Hi there! Welcome to my page, My name’s Karen, I’m 22 years old and I’m a Junior Public Relations major at Kean University. I love what I study and when I graduate with my Bachelor’s in PR, I hope to work in the realm of digital marketing and advertising/branding. I started this blog a little over a year ago, with the hope that I can reach people, near and far, and talk about things that almost all of us goes through.
I have always loved writing about anything that comes to mind. I’ve kept journals filled with ideas and just everyday mundane occurrences in my life…
Which is no surprise when I found out about blogging on WordPress! I love drafting new blog posts for all of you. What I normally blog about are primarily lifestyle and travel hacks, followed by some occasional mental health topics and things I stumble upon that are worth talking about.
I’ve had my bout with depression and anxiety, which I talk about on here. Thankfully I can say that I’ve recovered from it and I believe that it is a battle worth fighting.
If there’s one thing about me and my writing style, it’s that I take everything that I have learned and try to spin it into a lesson that I have learned and will relay to all of you.
I have gone to not one, not two, but three colleges! My road to education has been a convoluted one, but I have gained so much clarity from each stage in my life and I have come out of these situations learning more about myself.
I’m an avid traveler and travel is a topic I talk about from time to time on here. Just to name a few places, I’ve traveled to Aruba, Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Colombia, and St. Maarten.
I will say this though, while I do talk about a lot of things in my posts, I try to use gender-neutral pronouns when I refer to people in my anecdotes and I stay away from all things political and controversial. You will not see me voice my opinions on anything that will most likely have me dragged online. I like to maintain harmony on my site, in a world where there is not. So my one rule for you, as my reader, is to not comment anything that is rude or controversial on any of my posts.
When I am not blogging, I like to spend time with my family, go out shopping, read a good book, and go on adventures with friends. I am a very outgoing person, so the way I write in my posts is how I really am in person.
I live at home with my mom, dad, aunt and younger brother. For me, family is everything. To me, they are the people who played such a huge role in the person I am today. Just about everything I know about my Colombian culture and life itself, is because of them.
As far as my style is concerned, I love wearing make up and going all out in nice clothes, but I also like to relax in a pair of leggings and a long sleeved shirt, there’s never really an in between, it’s either I go all out or I go home haha.
As a creative person, I have such an appreciation for all things art related. Art, films, books and music are one of my favorite topics to talk about. From time to time, I will talk about a song (on here) that has multiple meanings or a movie that left me looking at things differently. On here, I’ll talk about the books that gave me more clarity on things I wasn’t sure of.
My whole goal with this blog is to reach out to people who have been-or currently are- in similar situations. I get that my blog won’t have all the answers, but if I helped you live a better life or made you look at something in a totally different way, then I have done my job as a blogger.
I have nothing but love for all of you and just know that all of my posts come from a place of love, acceptance and understanding.

Sending love and light your way,
